16 Powerful Ganesha Mantras to Bring Good Luck and Fortune

For centuries, Devotees have chanted the Ganesha Mantras to remove obstacles and to bring good fortune and success.

In Hinduism, Lord Ganesha is one of the most important deities and can be distinguished in the Hindu Pantheon by his elephant head. Ganesh is the son of Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati and is revered as the Lord of beginnings, good luck, and fortune.

Lord Ganesha is the head of all Ganas and is the supreme god for followers of the Ganapatya Sect. Regardless of Sampradaya, he is worshipped by all Hindus.

Most Hindu sects, namely Shaivism, Shaktism, Ganapatya, Saura, and Kaumaram, worship Ganesha before starting any ritual or before beginning a new work, with the exception of Vaishnavism, where Viswaksena replaces the place. However, Ganesha holds a great place in Vaishnavism too.

There are several Ganesha mantras, and most are dedicated to his individual forms. Each of these mantras has its own specific purpose depending upon the form, like the Vakratunda Ganesha Mantra for good fortune, the Maha Ganapati Mantra to remove obstacles, the Kshipra Ganapati Mantra for immediate bestowal of wishes and so on. But in common, they help remove obstacles and give you good luck.

Devotees recite the Ganesha mantra mainly during rituals and puja, and even to do Sadhana for attaining mantra siddhi.

Let’s get into the most sacred and powerful Ganesha Mantras, their meaning, and Japa sankhya details.

Specific Ganesha sadhanas, like Sri Ucchista Ganapati Mantra sadhana, and those involving tantric practices, should be done after sunset and are recommended at night.

Ganesha Sadhana

Every Ganesha mantra has its own procedure and varies in Mantra Saptangas, yantra, homa procedure and sometimes even in sadhana krama.

In general, Ganesha Sadhana starts with rising in Brahma muhurtha, remembering isthadevata and other devathas and Guru padukas, meditating on the deity in the heart and other Vidya Saparyas.

Later, the Sadhaka or practitioner must perform procedures like Asana puja, Butha siddhi, achamana, sankalpa, yantra puja, performing upacharas, reciting viniyoga, performing nyasas, dhyana, mantra japa, purascharana, homa, tarpana and other procedures as required.

Be known that procedures or the Krama will be different from one mantra to another. It is recommended to seek the advice of an eligible guru for mantra sadhana unless you are completely aware of the Ganesha Mantra sadhana.

Alternatively, one can recite the Ganesha Slokas or simple Ganesha mantras like Om Ganeshaya Namaha without ritualistic procedures.
