Surya Mantras form a defined category within Hindu mantra traditions, especially centred on the worship of Lord Surya, the visible deity.
The Surya aradhana occupies a unique position within the spiritual and ritual framework of Sanatana Dharma. Lord Surya is revered as the witness of Karma, the sustainer of life, and the maker of the day. In fact, the Vedas described him as the eyes of the universe.
Among the several ways of worshipping Lord Surya, chanting Surya mantras is considered one of the highest, as these devotionals sound pronounced while repeated chanting aligns with the cosmic rhythm and invokes Surya’s energy.
Other forms of worship include chanting the Surya Shlokas, performing Homa, Upasana, etc.
These Mantras dedicated to Lord Surya, alongside the Surya Gayatri Mantra, are mostly purposeful and bring benefits like prosperity, wealth, good health, protection from planetary effects and so on. Some mantras establish reverence and surrender.

Meaning: Om, I invoke the radiance of Lord Surya, the Son of Aditi (so called Aditya).
Surya Mantra – Aditya Shodashakra Mantra for doing Japa
ॐ ह्रां श्रीं आम् ग्रहाधिराजाय आदित्याय स्वाहा ॥
Om Hrāṁ Śrīṁ Ām Grahādhirājāya Ādityāya Svāhā ॥
Meaning: I invoke the King of the planets, The Lord Aditya, the one associated with seed sounds Hram, Shrim and Aam that represent the divine energy of the Sun, prosperity and creative energy. Please accept my offerings.
Japa Sankhya: 6 thousand, and for Mantra siddhi, it is 6-fold, meaning 36 thousand.
Aditya Mantra for Wealth and Prosperity
ॐ ह्रीं घृणिः सूर्य आदित्यः श्रीं ॥
Om Hrīṁ Ghṛṇiḥ Sūrya Ādityaḥ Śrīṁ ॥
Meaning: Om, I invoke the radiance of Lord Surya, the Aditya, the one associated with seed sound Hrim and Shrim, where Hrim represents the power of Surya and Devi, and Shrim for wealth and prosperity.
Japa Sankhya: 6 thousand for 5 Sundays for regular worship, and for Mantra siddhi, it is 2 Lakhs in a period of one Mandala.
Bhaskara Mantra to Remove Planetary Effects and Astrological Benefits
ॐ नमो भास्कराय मम सर्वग्रहपीडानाशनं कुरु कुरु स्वाहा ॥
Om Namo Bhāskarāya Mama Sarva-Grahapīḍā Nāśanam Kuru Kuru Svāhā ॥

Surya Mantra for Good Health and Wellbeing

Om Hrīṁ Trigma-Raśmaye Ārogyadāya Svāhā ॥
Meaning: Om, O the Lord associated with seed sound Hrim, whose rays are intensely radiant in three ways, being powerful, sharp, and life-giving. O, the bestower of health, accept my offerings.
