Sudarshana Gayatri Mantra
ॐ सुधर्शनाय विद्महे महाज्वालाय धीमहि ।
तन्नः चक्रः प्रचोदयात् ॥
Om Sudarshanāya Vidmahe Mahājvālāya Dhīmahi ।
Tanno Cakraḥ Prachodayāt ॥
Meaning: Om, I meditate on Lord Sudarshana, I contemplate on that Lord with great radiance. May that divine discus (Chakra) enlighten me.
How Many Times and When to Chant
For puja purposes or general worship, Devotees can recite the mantra 16, 21, or 24 times.
For normal Japa, the recommended chanting count for the Sudarshana Gayatri Mantra is 108 times daily for 40 days, whereas for Sadhana it is 1,25,000 repetitions.
Early mornings are the time to prefer to do this mantra Japa. However, one can recite or worship the Lord Sudarshana at any time with this mantra without restriction.
