Ucchista Chandalini Mantra – Ucchista Matangi Mantra

Among the Mantras used for Sadhana, the Ucchista Chandalini Mantra, also referred as the Ucchista Matangi Mantra, holds a unique place and has an unconventional way of worship.

श्री मातङ्गेश्वरी सर्वजनवशंकरि स्वाहा॥

Oṃ Hrīṃ Aiṃ Śrīṃ Namo Bhagavati Ucchiṣṭa Cāṇḍāli
Śrī Mātaṅgeśvarī Sarvajanavaśaṃkarī Svāhā॥

Meaning: I bow to the Divine mother, Ucchista Chandalini (a fierce form of matangi), who is associated with Beeja sounds Hrim, Aim, Srim. O, the one called Matangeswari, who controls the activities of all people, please accept my offerings.

Ucchista Chandalini Japa Mantra (Sumukhi Matangi Mantra)

ॐ उच्छिष्ट चाण्डालिनि सुमुखि देवि महापिशाचिनि ह्रीं ठः ठः ठः॥

Oṃ Ucchiṣṭa Cāṇḍālini Sumukhi Devi Mahāpiśācini Hrīṃ Ṭhaḥ Ṭhaḥ Ṭhaḥ॥

Meaning: Om, O Goddess Ucchista Chandalini, having a beautiful and auspicious face, the devi who controls the spirits and ghosts which are beyond worldly rules. I pray to you using the shakti bijas Hrim and thah that represent the feminine power, force and destruction (that can drive away negative forces, remove obstacles, and assert divine protection)

Over centuries, Sadhakas have used this mantra for the following benefits

One can also worship the Goddess through mantras and shlokas, or through daily japa.

The Sadhana krama involves reciting the Viniyoga, performing Rishi nyasa, and then performing Kara and Anganyasas.

Later, proceed with Shadanga, Trishakti, and Pada nyasa.

Continue with Dhyanam, Manasa puja, Mantra recitation and Samarpanam.

For repetitions of the mantra, just chanting the mantra is enough.
